Dr. Marcello Leao

Dr. Marcello Leao graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with his Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology. He then went on to earn his second Bachelor's degree in Human Biology and his Doctorate degree in Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in 2006. Dr. Leao focuses on safe, conservative techniques that help reduce symptoms in the shortest time possible, coupled with education about how to stay out of pain. He combines a variety of treatment methods including Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy, Exercise, Acupuncture, and Nutrition to assist your body in achieving its potential for regaining and maintaining health.

Before becoming a chiropractic physician, Dr. Leao worked as a licensed paramedic in the ambulance setting for seven years. He was exposed to a variety of calls ranging from myocardial infarctions to motor vehicle collisions. This experience, combined with his chiropractic training gives him a deep understanding and empathy to his patient's physical and emotional needs.

Dr. Leao is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is fluent in three languages including Spanish, Portuguese, and English. He enjoys running, playing musical instruments, and spending quality time with his wife and son. He is an active member of the American Chiropractic Association and Illinois Chiropractic Society, and is a current paramedic in the Highland Park Hospital EMS System. He is constantly keeping up with the latest research and attending paramedic/chiropractic seminars for cutting-edge techniques.
